The Maitland Zone PSSA Sportsperson of the Year award was established in 2022 to honour the exceptional sporting achievements of students within our zone. In 2025, following the introduction of competitive Multi-Class (MC) events at our athletics carnival, the award was expanded to include a dedicated Multi-Class Sportsperson of the Year category.

This prestigious award recognises students who has demonstrated outstanding skills and ability through representative sports pathways. Nominees must have been selected for at least one Hunter PSSA team and consistently exhibit exceptional commitment, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude in their sporting endeavours.
